Gruso

Bracing himself as well as he could, Gruso swung his axe hard at the charging Bisourex. The duo of dinosaurs that looked like a cross between bison and triceratops seemed to be simple quadrupeds that spent most of their attack power running things down. Their sharp, pointed horns could do a fair amount of damage if they caught an adventurer just right, but they were easy enough to dodge. The hard thing was, they had a ton of hit points.

Gruso’s hit, even with the add from his telekinesis, did only minor damage. He let the momentum of the swing carry him around so he could get in a second hit on the beast’s flank as Digger somersaulted over its head, and landed on its shoulders.

“Let’s see if this helps.” Digger pushed two glowing daggers into the monster’s huge head and lightning danced between them.

“Should,” Avalon announced from the side of the trail. “My poisoned arrows do damage, just not lots at one time.”

“Their size is their main weapon.” Blair landed a double sword strike on the second Bisourex. “We’ve got to wear them down before they wear us down.”

“All this wearing down is making me tired.” Suada’s arrows found Blair’s target. “I’m ready to get to town and relax.”

“The way these awful beasts keep attacking, I will get to my shop and never leave,” Honning said from beside Suada. The Badger merchant had stayed close to her since she was the one least likely to engage mobs hand-to-hand.

Wounds appeared in the Bisourex Gruso had just attacked, as the beast turned on the trail and started back toward them. Blood ran down its brown scaly hide.

Gruso glanced to where Avalon had been moments before. He was gone. Then he was on the trail behind the Bisourex, drawing his bow. The way the Wolf could freeze time and do damage was way cool, but it didn’t seem to do a lot to the Bisourex as it charged back toward Gruso.

Each step the massive beast took, its health dropped a little more.

Oliver Rushed over to the one Blair and Suada were working on. He did damage, but like Gruso’s it wasn’t a lot.

Bracing himself for his target’s next charge, Gruso glanced at his psychic energy bar. He was under half. They needed to finish up the fight quickly.

Digger jabbed two more daggers into the Bisourex and it wobbled as the lightning danced between the four conductors, then it stiffened and fell forward. “Coming down.” He jumped off the huge dino and rolled across the trail as Gruso swung his axe.

Gruso’s blow was the strongest he could get. His energy flashed toward the empty level as the Bisourex stumbled and crashed to the trail.

“Look out!” Blair shouted.

Turning just in time to throw himself across the trail, Gruso barely missed the second Bisourex’s charge. The first one was on the ground and would bleed out in a few seconds. He turned his attention to the second one, which was more than halfway down. Other than being huge, they weren’t anything special.
